Motorola is set to launch its new top-tier smartphone, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, in India on July 18. The company has released a video showcasing one of its new AI features called Magic Canvas, which lets users create images from text descriptions. The phone will also have a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Motorola India shared a video demonstrating the Magic Canvas feature. In the video, a user opens an app called “Create with AI” and sees two options: Style Sync and Magic Canvas. The user types a description into Magic Canvas, and the AI quickly generates an image based on the text. The user then shares the image on WhatsApp, indicating that images can be downloaded or shared directly with other apps.

Although the video didn’t show the Style Sync feature in action, it was briefly described as a tool to generate matching wallpapers based on an outfit photo.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will also have an AI-powered camera system that helps stabilize video recordings and improves photo quality with autofocus and long exposure settings. The AI will also help capture better action shots.

Motorola’s in-house Moto AI will be integrated throughout the phone’s system, including the camera, themes, navigation, and search functions. Moto AI is also expected to offer tools for content creation and personalization. However, no technical details about Moto AI were provided.

Additionally, users of the Edge 50 series will have access to AI editing tools in the Google Photos app, like Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and Photo Unblur, which are already available on Google Pixel phones.
